About the Role

The YMCA Greater Toronto is seeking a dedicated professional to fill the position of Newcomer Youth Development Specialist. This role will be instrumental in developing and implementing programs that foster the growth and integration of newcomer youth within our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement youth leadership development programs that cater to the unique needs of newcomer youth.
  • Recruit and retain a diverse group of youth members from surrounding communities, ensuring long-term participation and retention.
  • Conduct needs assessments within the community to identify areas for program improvement and development.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community stakeholders, schools, and other settlement agencies to promote newcomer youth programs.
  • Deliver presentations to schools and community groups to raise awareness about the importance of supporting newcomer youth.
  • Prepare monthly reports on program activities, outcomes, and recommendations for future growth.

Requirements

  • University degree or community college diploma in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience working with teens and young adults, with a focus on settlement services and community engagement.
  • Superior presentation, facilitation, and organization skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility regarding work hours, including evenings and weekends, and the ability to work at different locations.
