We are seeking a Compliance and Data Protection Officer to oversee compliance, data protection, ESG and sustainability initiatives for Giesecke+Devrient in North America. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with internal and external policies, maintain data protection integrity, and promote environmental, social, and economic sustainability.

Key ResponsibilitiesCompliance
  • Develop and Implement Compliance Programs: Design and implement strong controls to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks, standards, internal policies, and procedures.
  • Establish Compliance Standards: Develop and enforce compliance standards to prevent non-compliance issues and provide regular compliance reports.
  • Compliance Training: Provide training to management and employees on compliance, financial crime prevention, and risk mitigation requirements.
  • Point of Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for the Chief Compliance Officer for any compliance-related inquiries.
Data Protection
  • Monitor Data Privacy Processes: Ensure compliance with Veridos data privacy protection standards by monitoring processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Implement Data Privacy Laws: Comply with data privacy laws, corporate guidelines, and local policies.
  • Data Privacy Advice: Provide advice to local management on data privacy issues related to quotes, tenders, etc.
  • Data Violation Handling: Handle any violation of data & privacy incidents and complaints.
  • Point of Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for the Chief Privacy Officer for any data privacy-related inquiries.
ESG & Sustainability
  • Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Guidelines: Adhere to Veridos ESG guidelines by capturing non-financial risks and opportunities inherent to our day-to-day activities.
  • Work and assess the environmental, social, and governance performance of companies in the North American region.
  • Sustainability Reporting: Monitor and report on the sustainability economic balance, social, and environmental aspects for the long-term well-being of present and future generations.
RequirementsExperience
  • 5-8 years' experience: As a compliance and data protection officer with a proven track record of ensuring compliance and data protection integrity.
Skills and Competencies
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent English communication skills both verbally and written, with exceptional interpersonal and public speaking abilities. French language fluency desirable.
  • Proficient in MS Office: Proficient in MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Time Management: Ability to meet deadlines of competing demands with limited guidance and determine priorities independently.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactive, analytical, resourceful attitude with critical problem-solving and strategic planning capabilities.
  • Adaptability: Resistant to rejection and push backs from managers and staff alike when adhering to company policies.
Education
  • Juris Doctorate or Master's Degree: A Juris Doctorate or Master's degree in business, accounting, or other relevant field suitable for compliance and data protection roles.
Working Conditions
  • Hybrid Work Environment: Required to work in a hybrid environment with a combination of home and office settings.
  • Computer-Based Work: Required to sit in front of a computer for long periods of time.
