The Northern / NorthMart stores are seeking a results-driven Retail Sales Manager to lead their General Merchandise Department in maximizing sales and growing profits. As a key member of the store team, you will be responsible for implementing company standards, protecting company assets, and developing and training staff.

Job Description

This role involves managing the day-to-day operations of the General Merchandise Department, including monitoring performance, following merchandising practices, supporting promotions, and maintaining operational standards and controls. You will also be responsible for providing regular input to the Sales Development Team on sales trends and new wanted items.

Additionally, you will oversee the correct cost landing of all invoices and adjust retail prices to maintain gross profit margins. You will also ensure that the daily operating disciplines, as described in the General Merchandise Manual (Retail Basics), are consistently met.

You will work closely with the Store Manager and other members of the store team to achieve business goals and objectives. If you have a passion for retail and a strong desire to succeed, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and adventurous individual who is comfortable working in remote areas. A minimum of two years of experience in a high-volume grocery/retail environment is required, as well as a record of bottom line and sales results in previous roles.

Computer knowledge of Excel and Outlook is essential, as well as strong knowledge of grocery operating principles. Proven organizational, planning, and prioritizing skills are also necessary.
