About the Role

The Director, Product Finance will play a pivotal role in driving the success of the Canadian Banking Finance team at Scotiabank. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the effective execution of specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Leadership: The Director will lead a small, high-impact team and report directly to the CFO of Tangerine. They will be accountable for business line financials, including forecasting and financial modeling, to ensure accurate and up-to-date results.
  • Treasury Management: The Director will own all matters related to treasury, including the distribution of product funds transfer pricing (FTP) rates from treasury to the business lines. They will also support deep dives or additional requests into treasury-related items and act as an advocate for Tangerine to ensure accurate value is being ascribed to all assets & deposits.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: The Director will work closely with the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team within Tangerine to ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
  • Business Development: The Director will support ad hoc projects and general support around the implementation of Tangerine Finance's technology roadmap. They will also work directly with and support the Tangerine Executive Leadership Team and key stakeholders across both Tangerine and Canadian Banking Finance.
  • Communication and Reporting: The Director will present relevant financial updates to the Tangerine Board of Directors as required.
Requirements
  • Relevant Experience: The ideal candidate will have relevant experience at a financial institution in Treasury, Product, Economics, or Finance roles.
  • Leadership Skills: The Director will lead complex, multi-facet projects, process improvement initiatives, and/or technology roadmaps.
  • Communication Skills: The Director will interact with senior executives on a regular basis.
