The Royal Conservatory is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Concert Season Coordinator to support the Performing Arts team. As an emerging professional in the arts, you will gain hands-on experience in the many facets of arts programming and administration.

About the Opportunity

This 9.5-month full-time contract position offers a competitive salary of $$35,000. You will work closely with the Executive Director and Programming Manager to identify and research potential concert artists, assist with developing concert budgets, and participate in fundraising and marketing strategy meetings.

Main Responsibilities
  • Concert Artist Research: Assist the Executive Director and Programming Manager with identifying and researching potential concert artists
  • Budget Development: Assist with developing concert by concert and full season budgets
  • Fundraising Strategy Meetings: Participate in fundraising strategy meetings with Development staff
  • Marketing Strategy Meetings: Participate in marketing strategy meetings with Marketing and PR staff
  • Artist Liaison: Assist with advancing concerts by liaising with local and international artists, agents, and tour managers to gather artist assets
  • Event Management: Manage Prelude and Postlude artists on concert nights
  • Payment Requisitions: Assist with drafting payment requisitions and generating contracts for local artists
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience: 2-3 years of live music industry experience (festival, performing arts centre, independent promoter, club or university presenting team)
  • Education: Post-secondary education at a university or college, an asset if the area of study is relevant to the performing arts or arts administration
  • Skills: Willingness and ability to work effectively under pressure, careful and diplomatic, highly organized, problem-solving skills, excellent verbal and written skills, good negotiating skills, comfortable being assertive, team-oriented, strict attention to detail, capable of prioritizing effectively, multi-tasking, and escalating where necessary
