Job Description:
The Medical Professional - Safe Patient Care Specialist will play a key role in providing safe and quality patient-centered care on our busy medical unit. The successful candidate will be part of an interprofessional healthcare team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe and effective nursing care according to hospital policies and standards.
- Observe, monitor, report, and document changes in patients' physical, mental, and emotional states.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living and provide relevant information and teaching.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver consistent quality care and meet patient needs.
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
- 2 years of recent acute adult experience.
- Palliative nursing care experience is an asset.
