Clinical Support Specialist for Pediatric Care

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Support Specialist to join our team at BC Children's Hospital, part of the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA). As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of exceptional patient care.
About the RoleThis is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per annum, depending on experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to our clinical teams, ensuring seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Reception duties, including receiving and directing patients, answering phone calls, and taking messages for doctors and nurses.
- Taking phone referrals from doctor's offices to arrange appointments and communicate with patients.
- Booking, scheduling, and confirming outpatient appointments, as well as retrieving patient records and pre-registering patients.
- Transcribing and typing correspondence, such as medical reports and letters, for physicians and medical directors.
- Sending, receiving, sorting, and distributing mail, faxes, reports, and documents.
- Filling out requisition forms for stationery and supplies and composing routine memos and correspondence.
- Creating, printing, and distributing appointment lists, clinic schedules, and other essential materials.
- Collecting and submitting billing information to the billing manager.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A high school diploma or equivalent, along with a minimum of one year of recent experience in a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- The ability to operate various software applications and equipment, including computers, phones, and printers.
