Pediatric Pain Management Specialist
At BC Children's Hospital and the University of British Columbia, an exciting opportunity exists to join the Complex Pain Service (CPS) as a Pediatric Pain Management Specialist. This role is part of the Pain360 program, a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing patient- and family-centered care for pediatric and adolescent patients with chronic or complex pain.
The CPS serves patients with pain that significantly impairs their function, offering assessments and management through clinical services ranging from outpatient clinics to inpatient referrals. The team aims to collaborate with community services and hospital sub-specialty providers to optimize pain care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide medical expertise to support pain care in the Complex Pain Service (CPS)
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide ongoing management for patients with complex pain conditions
- Engage in resident and fellow education and training to advance knowledge and skills in pain management
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will possess a fellowship in Pediatrics from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and subspecialty training and certification in pediatric pain management. You must also be eligible to obtain a specialist's license to practice medicine in British Columbia and have a clinical faculty appointment at the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Developmental Pediatrics, University of British Columbia.
Compensation and Benefits:
This position offers a competitive salary range of $300,000 - $450,000 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
