Director of Marketing & Communications Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented Director of Marketing & Communications to lead our marketing and communications efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the marketing communications environment across all digital and traditional channels and the ability to adapt strategies accordingly.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a marketing team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communications programs for Events East, the Halifax Convention Centre, and Scotiabank Centre.
  • Oversee all aspects of corporate communications, including internal messaging, media relations, and issues management.
  • Implement targeted marketing and promotion strategies for events, driving ticket sales and fostering engagement with community members, promoters, and event organizers.
  • Establish partnerships to strengthen the organization's profile and community ties.
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and performance metrics across multiple campaigns, adapting strategies to meet dynamic organizational needs.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, or brand management.
  • A proven leader of people, inspiring and empowering their team to create an environment of trust and collaboration.
  • Experience implementing successful marketing and communications strategies and campaigns, including measurement and performance monitoring.

Compensation:

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, based on the title, job description, and location.
