About the Role

The Director of Education and Mobilization will play a critical role in advancing the organization's Israel and Jewish advocacy agenda through the development and implementation of a comprehensive educational strategy. This individual will work closely with the Provincial Advocacy Task Force and senior leadership team to ensure that campus staff and student leaders have the necessary training and resources to effectively advocate for Jewish students' rights on campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Educational Strategy: In partnership with the Advocacy Task Force and senior leadership team, guide and implement the organization's educational strategy across nine universities.
  • Train and Mentor Campus Staff and Student Leaders: Train and mentor the cohort of campus-based junior advocacy professionals, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively advocate for Jewish students' rights.
  • Oversee Student Advocacy Fellowship: Oversee a fellowship of student advocates from across the province, providing training, joint learning, and events to support their development as effective advocates.
  • Collaborate with Jewish and Israel Advocacy Organizations: Proactively collaborate and coordinate with other Jewish and/or Israel advocacy organizations operating on campus to further the organization's strategic advocacy objectives and strengthen intra-organizational relationships.
  • Coordinate Cross-Campus Initiatives: Coordinate and convene large-scale cross-campus initiatives, speakers, and opportunities to engage students in advocacy and Israel education.
  • Provide Antisemitism Training: Provide antisemitism training for student leaders, student groups and unions, faculty, and university administrators to promote a safe and inclusive campus environment.
  • Develop Educational Content: Strategically create educational content to post on the organization's various social media platforms, promoting the organization's mission and values.
  • Coordinate Immersive Experiences: Coordinate a variety of immersive experiences to engage students in advocacy and Israel education, including fact-finding missions to Israel.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: An undergraduate degree in a relevant field of study (Master's preferred) with 5+ years of experience in a Jewish education role, 3+ years of experience with demonstrable leadership and mentorship.
  • Abilities and Skills: An educator with a passion and knowledge of politics and advocacy, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to multi-task and troubleshoot effectively under tight timelines with significant pressure.
