Forensic Psychiatrist Opportunity

Alberta Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Forensic Psychiatrist to join our team at Forensic Assessment and Community Services (FACS) in Edmonton. As a Forensic Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing assessment and treatment services to individuals involved with criminal courts in the region, as well as the Criminal Code Review Board of Alberta (CCRB).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide assessment and treatment services to individuals referred by probation, the CCRB, and the court
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver care
  • Assess individuals for fitness to stand trial, criminal responsibility, and pre-sentence risk
  • Provide testimony in court and at CCRB hearings as required
Qualifications:
  • Training in forensic psychiatry
  • Ability to work as a fully qualified psychiatrist in Canada
