Forensic Psychiatrist Opportunity

Alberta Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Forensic Psychiatrist to join our team at Forensic Assessment and Community Services (FACS) in Edmonton. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide assessment and treatment services for individuals involved with criminal courts in the region, as well as the Criminal Code Review Board of Alberta (CCRB).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals referred by probation, the CCRB, and the court
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to address the mental health needs of offenders
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide continuity of care for individuals between correctional facilities and the community
  • Provide expert testimony in court and at CCRB hearings as required
Qualifications:
  • Training in forensic psychiatry
  • Ability to work as a fully qualified psychiatrist in Canada
