Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Psychiatrist to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a Forensic Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing assessment and treatment services to individuals involved with the criminal courts in the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals referred by the court or probation services
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to address the mental health needs of offenders
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide care and support to individuals in correctional facilities and in the community
  • Provide expert testimony in court or at CCRB hearings as required
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of forensic mental health services
Requirements
  • Training in forensic psychiatry
  • Ability to work as a fully qualified psychiatrist in Canada
  • Eligibility to practice medicine in Alberta
