As a Talent Acquisition Specialist at MGIS Inc., you will spearhead human resources and recruitment initiatives, playing a crucial role in strategizing, preparing, executing, and overseeing staffing operations across various occupational sectors. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the effective and precise implementation of recruitment processes, while also mitigating delays and potential conflicts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Staffing Strategy Development: Formulate detailed staffing and resource allocation strategies.
  • Demographic Insights: Provide managers with demographic analysis and assist in crafting strategies to fulfill human resource requirements.
  • Merit Criteria Consultation: Offer insights and guidance on various merit criteria and qualifications.
  • Workforce Evaluation: Deliver insights into workforce dynamics and process advantages and disadvantages.
  • Assessment Tool Expertise: Advise on the efficacy of assessment tools and support their development or selection.
  • Criteria Implementation: Assist managers with the proper sequencing and application of merit criteria.
  • Decision Analysis: Provide counsel, guidance, and support in reviewing decisions and evaluating the impact of changes.
  • Strategy Formulation: Develop or assist in the creation of staffing or resource strategies and plans.
  • Needs Assessment: Review organizational and business requirements to identify suitable staffing strategies, aligning with broader plans such as Employment Equity and Diversity and Official Languages.
  • Challenge Resolution: Provide recommendations and advice for addressing staffing and recruitment challenges in accordance with organizational strategies and plans.
  • Recruitment Planning: Develop and execute recruitment and employment strategies.
  • Recruitment Execution: Prepare and manage recruitment and staffing processes, including drafting merit criteria, assessment guidelines, candidate evaluations, test coordination, interviews, reference checks, and reporting.
  • Documentation Preparation: Draft staffing reports, collect data, conduct interviews, and prepare necessary documentation.
  • Policy Advisory: Advise managers on staffing policies and procedures in alignment with the IRB's staffing framework.
  • Collaborative Efforts: Work alongside the IRB's HR team to ensure the alignment of advice and guidance provided to project authorities.
Requirements
  • Experience: Over 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Government of Canada Selection Processes: Deep understanding of Government of Canada selection processes.
  • Document Preparation: Proficiency in drafting statements of merit, rating guides, assessment tools, screening applications, marking tests, and conducting interview panels.
  • HR Knowledge: Experience in developing HR processes and strategies.
  • Educational Background: University Diploma.
  • Professional Credentials: Relevant HR professional designations.
  • Language Proficiency: Bilingual capabilities.
