The Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre is seeking an experienced professional to lead the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Eating Disorder Program. This program serves Transitional Aged Youth and the Paediatric population.

  • A Master's degree in Social Work or Clinical Counselling is required, with experience in waitlist management and triage being an asset.
  • Sound knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act III and Mental Health Act is essential.

The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to research, create, and implement new policies and procedures, as well as maintain, monitor, and report on all data relevant to centralized intake processes for the department and region.

About the Role

This role requires a strong understanding of hospital information systems and the ability to oversee the implementation of new clinical models of service and integration with medical management models.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for educating patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals regarding eating disorder best practices and services navigation, and building community capacity.
  • They will also participate in community initiatives impacting Intake and referral processes, while demonstrating initiative and leadership skills/qualities.

Responsibilities:

  • Program planning and development with management and regional partners.
  • Implementation of new clinical models of service and integration with medical management models.
  • Educating patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals regarding eating disorder best practices and services navigation, and building community capacity.

Requirements:

  • A Master's degree in Social Work or Clinical Counselling.
  • Experience in waitlist management and triage.
  • Sound knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act III and Mental Health Act.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of hospital information systems.
  • Ability to work in partnership with external stakeholders, including referrers, new client referrals, and their families, departmental programs, and community agencies.
