About the Job

At Nova Scotia Health Authority, we are seeking a skilled Clinical Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. As a key member of our mental health services, you will play a vital role in delivering time-limited assessments and treatments to adults with complex mental health disorders and substance use issues.

About You

We are looking for an individual with a Master's degree in a clinical health-related field, current registration with a relevant provincial regulatory body, and a minimum of two years' experience in assessment, treatment, and intervention. Your expertise in harm reduction, addiction dynamics, and evidence-based interventions is essential, as is your ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

You should have strong knowledge of the DSM-5 criteria for diagnosing mental health disorders, cognitive behavioral therapy, psycho-educational groups, crisis intervention, and risk assessment/intervention. Additionally, you should possess basic competencies in treating concurrent mental health and substance use disorders.

Job Details
  • Permanent part-time position: 37.5 hours bi-weekly
  • $37.31 - $49.05 hourly salary range
