Job Description

SGS is seeking a part-time Food Sampler in Montreal to assist with product sampling and quality control.

  • Work from home opportunity
  • No experience required
  • Hourly rate: $20 per hour
  • One-year contract with approximately 20 hours per week
  • Must be available to work on Mondays and Tuesdays
  • Candidates must reside in Montreal
  • Must possess a vehicle and valid driving license
  • Candidates must have a laptop to complete assigned tasks

A Day in the Life of an SGS Canada Food Sampler:

  • Prepare weekly and monthly sampling schedules
  • Collect samples from grocery stores, farmer's markets, and specialty stores
  • Take digital photos of samples
  • Accurately enter sample information into workbooks
  • Complete paperwork and ship samples
  • Purchase, store, pack, and ship sample products
  • Ensure expenses, timecards, and photos are completed on a weekly basis
  • Provide accurate and timely results
  • Respond to communication with the admin team
  • Ensure sampling supplies and office supplies are sufficient
  • Work in a safe and proper manner

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Class 5 drivers' license and reliable vehicle
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English

Experience/Assets:

  • Few years of experience in fresh produce handling and storage
  • Knowledge of different types of foods and ethnic foods
  • Knowledge of grocery stores and specialty foods stores
  • Understanding of food labels

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Competent knowledge of Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to follow instructions and guidelines
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions
  • Ability to work well with others and independently
  • Self-motivating
  • Good time management skills and attention to detail
  • Compliance with company policies
