About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Vocational Rehabilitation Counsellor, Assertive Community Treatment to join our team at Fraser Health.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to work with clients recovering from mental illness, providing employment services in an integrated community setting. The successful candidate will assess client needs, develop vocational rehabilitation plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve competitive employment goals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments of client vocational rehabilitation needs through collaboration, discussion, and problem-solving.
  • Develop and implement vocational rehabilitation plans that integrate vocational goals into mental health treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with Case Managers, interdisciplinary teams, and community professionals to advocate for clients' employment needs.
  • Provide ongoing support services to clients, including vocational rehabilitation counselling, job coaching, and education on labour market trends and job marketing techniques.
  • Monitor client progress, revise goals as needed, and communicate with Case Managers and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in departmental in-service programs, provide input on client cases, and contribute to Centre initiatives.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in an applicable social or health sciences program.
  • Two years of recent related experience providing vocational rehabilitation counselling and job marketing/development to individuals with mental illness.
  • Eligibility for certification as a rehabilitation professional with a recognized association.
  • A valid B.C. Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business use.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on qualifications and location. Fraser Health offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as opportunities for professional development and growth.
