Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor

We are seeking a skilled Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor to join our interdisciplinary team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our community employment services, you will play a critical role in empowering individuals with mental illness to achieve their vocational goals.
Job SummaryThis is a full-time position that requires a strong understanding of psychosocial rehabilitation principles and the ability to work effectively with clients, staff, and community agency personnel. You will be responsible for assessing client needs, developing vocational rehabilitation plans, and providing ongoing support services to help clients achieve competitive employment in an integrated community setting.
Duties and Responsibilities- Assess client vocational rehabilitation needs through collaboration and engagement
- Develop and implement vocational rehabilitation plans to integrate vocational goals into mental health treatment plans
- Provide vocational rehabilitation counseling on an individual basis and in group settings
- Conduct job development, direct marketing, and job search activities
- Maintain up-to-date information on labour market trends and job marketing techniques
- Ensure positions are consistent with client needs and interests
- Monitor client progress and provide education and support to employers and other mental health services providers
- Participate in case, team, and industry meetings and in-services
To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's Degree in an applicable social or health sciences program and two years of recent related experience providing vocational rehabilitation counseling and job marketing/development to individuals with mental illness. Eligibility for certification as a rehabilitation professional with a recognized association is also required. Additionally, you must possess valid B.C. Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business use.
Competitive Salary and Benefits PackageThe salary for this position is estimated to be around $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as pension plan and paid time off.
