Rehabilitation Treatment Coordinator

Job Summary
The Rehabilitation Assistant plays a crucial role in the rehabilitation process, working under the supervision of a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to implement treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Carries out designated components of a rehabilitative treatment plan, including activities of daily living, mobility, and strengthening exercises.
- Observes and reports cognitive and functional changes in patient ability or behaviour.
- Progresses treatment plans within established parameters and documents patient records.
- Provides input into treatment planning, implementation, modification, and evaluation.
- Performs various tests, records data, and reports findings to therapists.
- Prepares and applies therapeutic treatment modalities, such as transcutaneous electrical stimulation and hot packs.
- Provides functional skills training to patients and families.
- Assists with power and manual wheelchair mobility training.
- Maintains therapy equipment and supplies.
Requirements
- Completion of a Rehabilitation Assistant Program or equivalent education and experience.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to perform job duties.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
