We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Project Manager to join our team at Plan Group Inc.

About the Opportunity:

  • This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned project manager to lead electrical commercial projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget.

Responsibilities:

  1. Pursue project goals and milestones, delivering electrical projects promptly and within budget, while promoting a culture of health and safety excellence.
  2. Monitor project progress, provide forecasts, and control costs in line with Plan Group's efficiency program.
  3. Identify potential issues and inform management of any schedule delays or concerns.
  4. Maintain accurate project forecasting and ensure timely updates.
  5. Analyze critical path activities and advise the project team accordingly.
  6. Review and manage short-term planning strategies.
  7. Develop and implement pre-job plans, including estimate reviews, kick-off meetings, subcontractor selection, material handling, and risk management opportunities.
  8. Collaborate with site supervisors to optimize labor resources and minimize roadblocks to success.
  9. Ensure the project team adheres to document control, change order processes, equipment deliveries, site meetings, and progress documentation requirements.
  10. Provide regular feedback, coaching, and training to project team members.
  11. Nurture strong relationships with clients, general contractors, and engineers to contribute to project success.

Requirements:

  • You hold an Electrical Engineering diploma or equivalent, and have a minimum of five years of construction project management experience.
  • You have experience overseeing electrical commercial and institutional projects.
  • Proficiency in Estimating software such as Accubid Change Order, Enterprise, or similar is considered an asset.
  • You are computer literate, proficient in Microsoft Office, and have experience with scheduling software (e.g., Microsoft Project and/or Primavera).
  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent is highly regarded.
  • Experience analyzing architectural, electrical, and mechanical drawings, as well as working on commercial projects, is essential.
