This role requires providing high-quality patient care, promoting health, and maintaining wellness for patients of all ages.
The Town of High Prairie is a picturesque location in northern Alberta's Big Lakes County, offering an exceptional quality of life. Residents can take advantage of public and Catholic K-12 options, adult and post-secondary programs through Northern Lakes College, arts, cultural, and social activities, as well as outdoor recreation opportunities such as hiking, biking, or fishing.
As a Registered Nurse, you will be working in the newly opened High Prairie Health Complex, featuring 30 acute care beds, obstetrics, surgical programs, emergency, outpatient departments, and a full range of healthcare services. The JB Wood Continuing Care Centre, adjacent to the health complex, has 67 beds.
We offer a competitive salary, with rates ranging from $35.87 to $43.82 per hour. In addition, we have a Remote Retention Allowance in place, up to an annual maximum of $3,000, payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate. This allowance is non-pensionable.
This position demands strong leadership and critical thinking skills, demonstrated by the ability to direct other healthcare workers, problem solve, and escalate clinical concerns in a timely and appropriate manner. You must possess excellent communication and organizational skills, commitment to patient-centered care, and the ability to maintain collaborative working relationships with patients, families, and team members.
To succeed in this role, you should hold a completion of an accredited nursing education program, active registration, and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA), and current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider certification. If you haven't practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five years, you may need to complete additional courses.
