Job Title: Senior Budget Analyst

Join the Government of Nunavut's Department of Finance as a Senior Budget Analyst, playing a key role in helping the department's directors and other budget managers identify financial needs, develop and understand detailed budgets, monitor and report on these budgets over the year, and identify issues and take steps to improve accuracy and accountability.

About the Role

The Senior Budget Analyst will work closely with the Director, Corporate Services, the Manager, Financial Services, and others to assemble and maintain the Department's detailed budgets, accurately report the department's budget and financial activities, help accurately maintain and improve the accuracy of the department's budgets, and help advance the department's financial operations.

  • Administer the department's Centrally Administered Funds
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary degree in business administration, finance, public administration, or a relevant field, from a recognized institution, plus three (3) years' experience in a field related to finance, budgeting, accounting, or similar, with a preference for public sector experience. Completion of a professional designation related to accounting would be a significant asset.

Language and Culture

The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English, and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut's official languages would be considered an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut, and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.
