About the Role

The Government of Nunavut is seeking a highly skilled Senior Budget Analyst to join its team in Iqaluit. As a key member of the Corporate Services division, you will play a critical role in supporting the department's financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and accountability of its budgets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and maintain the Department's detailed budgets, accurately reporting the department's budget and financial activities.
  • Help maintain and improve the accuracy of the department's budgets, and advance the department's financial operations.
  • Administer the department's Centrally Administered Funds and help improve the department's budgeting and financial operations.
  • Collaborate with the Director, Corporate Services, and other stakeholders to identify teams' financial needs, develop and understand detailed budgets, and monitor and report on these budgets over the year.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in business administration, finance, public administration, or relevant field from a recognized institution.
  • Three (3) years' experience in a field related to finance, budgeting, accounting, or similar, with a preference for public sector experience.
  • Professional designation related to accounting would be a significant asset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in more than one of Nunavut's official languages (Inuktut, English, and French).
  • Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut, and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary range of $100,780 to $114,378 per year, 37.5 hours/week.
  • Northern Allowance: $16,008 per year.
