Job Summary

The Government of Nunavut is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for preparing Expenditure Forecasts, Business Cases, Financial Management Board submissions, and Public Accounts Submissions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement financial procedures, internal controls, and audit verification strategies to ensure timely and effective responses to capital reporting requirements.
  • Provide strategic advice and support to departmental managers and staff on financial management and budgeting.
  • Assist in preparing the annual Business Plan and ensure compliance with legislative authority and standard practice.
  • Verify third-party claims and gather necessary information for reporting requirements under third-party funding obligations.

Requirements

  • Recognized undergraduate degree in Business Administration/Commerce, Finance/Accounting, or related field.
  • Three (3) years related budgeting, accounting, and financial management experience.
  • Completion of a recognized professional accounting designation (CPA) is considered an asset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in more than one of Nunavut's official languages (Inuktut, English, French).
  • Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut, and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary range of $97,372 to $110,510 per year.
  • A Northern Allowance of $16,008 per year.
