About the Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our team in a permanent part-time position. As a member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive services to adults with mental health/addiction disorders who fit within the established target population.

Reporting to the Manager of Adult Outpatient Mental Health and Addiction Services, you will work independently to assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for clients. You will also provide group treatment approaches and client, family, and community education about mental health disorders and their treatments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans for clients
  • Provide group treatment approaches and education to clients, families, and communities
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care to clients
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community resources and services

Requirements:

  • Masters of Social Work with a specialization in clinical or mental health stream
  • Registered with the Nova Scotia College of Social Work
  • Two years of clinical experience in an inpatient/outpatient mental health setting
  • Competence in assessment, intervention, and research
  • Specialized knowledge of acute and persistent mental illness and concurrent disorders
