Geriatric Psychiatry Consultant Opportunity

Island Health is seeking a part-time Geriatric Psychiatrist to provide consultation services to inpatient and outpatient teams, including support for the Geriatric Evaluation and Management Team at Victoria General Hospital and outpatient services at the Senior's Outpatient Clinic at Royal Jubilee Hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide geriatric psychiatry consultation to inpatient and outpatient services
  • Support the Geriatric Evaluation and Management Team at Victoria General Hospital
  • Provide outpatient services at the Senior's Outpatient Clinic at Royal Jubilee Hospital
  • Consult with the Esquimalt Westshore Health Unit and Long Term Care Facilities
  • Participate in the Geriatric Psychiatry call rotation

Requirements:

  • Participation in the Geriatric Psychiatry call rotation is a requirement
  • Collegial relationships with Island Health geriatric medicine, adult psychiatry, and hospitalist services
  • Interdisciplinary team support for inpatient services and outpatient clinics
  • Opportunity for training of medical students and residents through the UBC Faculty of Medicine Island Medical Program
  • Encouragement and facilitation of research participation
