Island Health is seeking a part-time Geriatric Psychiatrist to provide consultation services to outpatient clinics, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare settings. The successful candidate will join a team of 10 other professionals in Victoria and contribute to the delivery of high-quality geriatric care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide geriatric psychiatry consultation to outpatient services at the Senior's Outpatient Clinic (SOPC) at Royal Jubilee Hospital
  • Support the Esquimalt Westshore Health Unit (EWHU) and provide consultation at several Long Term Care Facilities
  • Participate in the Geriatric Psychiatry call rotation and contribute to the development of interdisciplinary teams
  • Collaborate with Island Health's geriatric medicine, adult psychiatry, and hospitalist services to deliver comprehensive care
  • Participate in research and education initiatives, including training of medical students and residents
