Geriatric Psychiatry Opportunity

We are seeking a part-time Geriatric Psychiatrist to join our team at Island Health, providing 0.7 FTE of services and collaborating with 10 other professionals in Victoria.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide geriatric psychiatry consultation to inpatient and outpatient services, including support for the Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) Team at Victoria General Hospital.
  • Offer outpatient services at the Senior's Outpatient Clinic (SOPC) at Royal Jubilee Hospital, support for the Esquimalt Westshore Health Unit (EWHU), and consultation at several Long Term Care Facilities.
  • Participate in the Geriatric Psychiatry call rotation and contribute to the development of interdisciplinary teams.
  • Collaborate with Island Health's geriatric medicine, adult psychiatry, and hospitalist services to provide comprehensive care.
  • Engage in research and education opportunities, including training of medical students and residents, and applying for a clinical appointment.
Requirements
  • Participation in all departmental, clinical, and operational team meetings.
  • Leadership roles as required.
