We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Airport Security Specialist to join our team at Paladin Airport Security Services Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of passengers and staff at airport security checkpoints.

About the Role

The Airport Security Specialist - Passenger Screening role involves efficiently screening passengers and their belongings through airport security checkpoints, using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other technology. You will also provide information to passengers and answer questions professionally and with integrity. Additionally, you will be responsible for confirming valid boarding passes, scanning and testing baggage for prohibited items, protecting restricted areas, managing conflict, communicating clearly and effectively, and upholding all regulations with vigilance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen passengers and their belongings through airport security checkpoints
  • Provide information to passengers and answer questions professionally and with integrity

  • Scan and test baggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other technology
  • Protect restricted areas

  • Uphold all regulations with vigilance

As a valued member of our team, you can expect to receive comprehensive benefits, a great uniform, and paid training ($28.68/hour), increasing to $31.01/hour after completing the training program and full certification. Requirements
  • Excellent customer service skills, preferably in a high-volume environment for a minimum of one (1) year
  • Open availability to work any shift as required by the airport operations, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal; fluency in French is an asset
  • Ability to comply with the CATSA medical requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Please note that selected candidates will be required to apply for a Transport Security Clearance (TSC), which involves an extensive background check. Once obtained, they will be eligible to begin the Screening Officer Foundations (SOF) course, which must be successfully passed prior to beginning work as an Airport Security Specialist - Passenger Screening.
