Matrix Labour Leasing Ltd is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join their team in Kitimat, BC.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a qualified HVAC Technician to work on a one-year contract with a 40-hour per week, Monday to Friday schedule. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, and refrigeration equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble, install, repair, and replace various systems in commercial and industrial settings.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and overhaul entire heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
  • Repair and replace components for entire heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
  • Provide technical support in the field of servicing mechanical and HVAC systems.
  • Participate in and adhere to safety protocols.
Requirements:
  • Certified HVAC journeyperson and member of Local 516.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a qualified HVAC.
  • Provincial Safety Authority Gas Ticket (an asset).
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • The capability to prioritize tasks effectively to ensure timely completion/meet deadlines.
  • A Class 5 Driver's License with a clean Driver's abstract (an asset).
Skills:
  • Accurately preparing work estimates.
  • Effectively interpreting and utilizing blueprints.
  • Proficiently installing and calibrating controls, including wiring.
  • Ensuring precise measurement and installation of refrigeration or air conditioning components.
  • Thoroughly testing systems for leaks and functionality.
  • Adhering to legislative requirements, maintaining detailed documentation.

Pay Rate: $50 - $52 per hour

Union: Local 516
