Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Aluminum Casting Specialist to join our team at Standard Manufacturers Services Limited. As an Aluminum Casting Specialist, you will be responsible for melting and pouring aluminum into molds for the production of parts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Melt and Pour Aluminum: Operate and monitor foundry furnaces to melt aluminum, ensuring high-quality castings are produced.
  • Flux and Skim Molten Aluminum: Apply fluxes and skim molten aluminum to remove impurities and achieve optimal casting results.
  • Setup and Operate Tilt Pours: Configure and operate tilt pours to cast aluminum parts, adhering to Standard Manufacturers Services Limited's policies and procedures.
  • Follow Casting Work Package Procedures: Adhere to established work package procedures to ensure efficient and effective casting processes.
  • Handle Ladle Molten Aluminum: Safely handle ladle molten aluminum into molds, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Remove Aluminum Castings: Carefully remove aluminum castings from molds, inspecting for non-conformance and ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Inspect Castings: Visually inspect castings for defects, reporting any issues to the supervisor to ensure quality control.
  • Report Issues: Communicate any production-related issues to the supervisor, contributing to a smooth and efficient production process.
  • Finishing Operations: Perform finishing operations, including saw cutting and sanding, to remove gates and achieve high-quality castings.
  • Document Work: Complete work package documentation, maintaining accurate and detailed records of casting processes.
  • Maintain Work Areas: Clean and maintain work areas and equipment, adhering to Standard Manufacturers Services Limited's health and safety standards.

Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

  • Shift Schedule: Work a 4-day week, 10 hours a day, with flexible scheduling to meet production demands.
  • Repetitive Tasks: Perform repetitive tasks, requiring attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Heavy Lifting: Handle heavy loads up to 50 pounds, maintaining physical stamina and endurance.
  • Physical Demands: Work in a physically demanding environment, requiring standing for extended periods and manual labor.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain high levels of attention to detail, ensuring accurate and precise casting results.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues to achieve production goals, demonstrating strong teamwork and communication skills.

Employment Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
  • Language Skills: Possess a good understanding of the English language, both verbal and written.
  • Training: On-the-job training provided to ensure successful onboarding and performance.
