Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Foundry Finisher to join our team at Standard Manufacturers Services Limited. As a Foundry Finisher, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our aluminum casting products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure Safe Work Practices: Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Follow Scheduling Documentation: Ensure that all designated parts are shipped to the next department in a timely manner.
  • Remove Excess Flashing: Remove excess flashing from castings to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Follow Operator's Instructions: Follow operator's instructions in work packages to ensure accurate completion of tasks.
  • Operate Heating Torches: Move, place, and adjust heating torches on molds to achieve the desired finish.
  • Ensure Equipment and Material Safety: Ensure that equipment, materials, and production processes do not present a safety or health hazard to employees or the general public.
  • Finishing of Castings: Finish castings through saw cutting and sanding procedures for gate removal.
  • Prepare Sand Cores: Prepare and shake sand cores to ensure accurate casting.
  • Relieve Caster: Relieve the caster to ensure smooth operation.
  • Complete Work Package Documentation: Complete work package documentation to ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Clean Work Areas and Equipment: Clean work areas and equipment to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
Working Conditions
  • Work Schedule: Work 4 days a week, Monday to Thursday.
  • Frequent Priority Changes: Be prepared to frequently change priorities to meet the demands of the production schedule.
Employment Requirements
  • WHMIS Certification: Possess a valid WHMIS certification.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and ability to work with equipment.
  • Reliability: Demonstrate reliability and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Multi-Tasking: Possess the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively.
