Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Foundry Finisher to join our team at Standard Manufacturers Services Limited. As a Foundry Finisher, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our foundry and the production of high-quality castings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a Safe Working Environment: Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and procedures, and reporting any hazards or incidents to management.
  • Operate Equipment and Machinery: Safely operate and maintain equipment and machinery, including heating torches, saws, and sanding equipment, to ensure efficient and effective production.
  • Prepare and Finish Castings: Remove excess flashing from castings, and complete finishing procedures, including saw cutting and sanding, to ensure high-quality products.
  • Manage Work Flow: Prioritize tasks and manage work flow to meet production deadlines and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve common goals and objectives.
  • Maintain Quality Standards: Ensure that all products meet quality standards and specifications, and report any defects or issues to management.
  • Perform Administrative Tasks: Complete work package documentation, and maintain accurate records of production and quality control.

Working Conditions:

  • Work Schedule: Work 4 days a week, Monday to Thursday.
  • Flexibility: Be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and work demands.

Requirements:

  • Education and Certification: WHMIS Certification and a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Skills and Abilities: Reliable, able to work under minimum supervision, and possess strong multi-tasking skills.
