Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity to join the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board as a Building Systems Engineer - Mechanical Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and control systems within our facilities.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in building systems technology, with a minimum of three years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair. They will also possess excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless operations and minimize downtime
  • Develop and implement energy conservation programs to reduce waste and optimize system performance
  • Prepare architectural plans and drawings for new projects and renovations
Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must possess a diploma in building systems technology or a related field. A valid driver's license and proficiency in Microsoft Office are also required. Experience with STRATO (BBP) and DELTA (Regulvar) environments is considered an asset.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires flexibility and adaptability. The successful candidate will be expected to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required. They will also be required to travel to different sites and locations throughout the region.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is estimated to be between $24.36 and $33.95 per hour, based on industry standards and location. Additionally, the successful candidate will be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, pension plan, and employee assistance program.
