We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team at Fraser Health, providing exceptional care to individuals with mental health and concurrent disorders.

About the Role
This is a full-time position that requires a Registered Psychiatric Nurse with two years of recent experience providing treatment services to individuals with mental health and/or concurrent disorders. You will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide person-centered and recovery-oriented care, promoting rapid engagement and consistent delivery of client and family-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Care Coordination: Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to coordinate client care, perform intake functions, conduct mental health assessments, develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans, administer prescribed medications, and monitor clients' mental state.
- Nursing Care Planning: Plan and provide direct nursing care to clients, reviewing client/family history, conducting physical/psychosocial assessments, assessing vital signs, developing a care plan, and collaborating with other healthcare team members.
- Client-Centered Approach: Work from a strengths-based model, using motivational interviewing and engagement techniques to develop and implement individualized care plans, assisting clients to access appropriate services in the community.
- Therapeutic Relationships: Establish, maintain, and enhance therapeutic relationships with clients and their informal support network by engaging stakeholders in treatment planning, providing support and follow-up planning, promoting self-care management, and empowering clients to improve their quality of life.
- Treatment Services: Provide crisis intervention, individual counseling, and education according to various theoretical models to clients and their informal support network as required.
- Case Conferences: Participate in case conferences/meetings with clients, family, service providers, and members of the interprofessional team for identification of client mental health issues, concerns regarding services, and coordination of ongoing follow-up care.
Qualifications
Education, Training & Experience: Graduation from an approved School of Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing. Two (2) years of recent related experience providing treatment services to individuals with mental health and/or concurrent disorders, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and access to personal vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage.
Salary Information: The estimated annual salary for this position is $83,500 - $104,700, based on a full-time schedule.
