What the Position Entails:

The Human Resources Coordinator plays a critical role in administering personnel policies at the Cambridge Steel Mill. This includes recruitment and selection, payroll, employee benefits administration, and the coordination of training and company-sponsored employee services and activities.

The primary objective of this function is to develop and maintain effective employee relations.

  • Coordinate internal and external job postings as required, ensuring adequate staffing levels.
  • Oversee hourly recruitment strategies and interview processes.
  • Organize employee onboarding and training for new hires.
  • Support weekly payroll process.
  • Process HRIS transactions for employee changes.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding personnel changes, payroll, benefits, and pension.
  • Assist with administration of the employee benefit and pension programs.
  • Assist operational leaders in understanding and implementing the provisions of the collective agreement.
  • Oversee and coordinate employee engagement efforts.

What You Have to Offer:

  • Post-secondary education, with a concentration in Human Resources Management preferred.
  • Minimum years of experience working in an HR capacity, unionized environment preferred.
  • SAP and Kronos experience or payroll experience preferred.
  • Bilingual, English and French preferred.
  • Strong organization, time management, and interpersonal skills.
