About This Role

As an Economic Development Coordinator with Norfolk County, you will play a vital role in supporting the Strategic Innovation and Economic Development team. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the team, including data management, engagement of industry-related stakeholders, and community groups on various initiatives.
  • Assist with the promotion of partnerships and provide support to outside organizations with data requests, register businesses and organizations in County programs, services, and cooperative advertising opportunities.
  • Deliver key industry forums, training, workshops, and other programs that encourage business operators to engage in Department programs, cooperative marketing, and economic development strategies.
  • Contribute to policy development for the employer, focusing on community collaboration and engagement, business partnerships, neighbourhood revitalization, and other economic development issues.
  • Coordinate and execute meetings, trade shows, and events, which may include evenings and weekends.
  • Support the administration of the Strategic Economic Development team.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education diploma or degree in Economic Development, Marketing, Business, Project Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Three years of related experience in economic development, customer relationship management, account management, and/or sales is essential.
  • Certificate in Economic Development is an asset.
Competencies
  • Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor are essential.
  • Understanding of agriculture, tourism, manufacturing, and small business is important and considered an asset.
  • Fluent in data analysis.
  • Understanding of municipal policies, programs, and processes.
  • Solid knowledge of economic development principles and practices.
  • Problem-solving skills and knowledge of the municipal decision-making process.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and assemble/present information professionally.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Computer expertise in corporate standard software (Microsoft Office) and department-specific software for data search and entry, document creation, and modification.
What We Offer

Norfolk County offers a competitive salary range of $31.700 - $39.626 per hour, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

This is a temporary part-time position with an estimated duration of approximately 1 year.
