About the Role

The Sous Chef will oversee the daily activities of the kitchen, ensuring guest satisfaction, profitability, and a positive work environment. This key position requires excellent attendance, open availability, and strong management skills.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise line set-up, prep, and breakdown activities, delegating tasks to line personnel.
  • Set up and break down buffet, beverage, break, and carving tables, ensuring all necessary equipment is available.
  • Assist the Executive Chef with record keeping, administrative tasks, and food inventories.
  • Measure, mix, and cook ingredients according to recipes.
  • Maintain a clean kitchen, adhering to high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Ensure kitchen staff are aware of work expectations, providing on-going assistance, training, and mentoring.
  • Monitor food production, quality, and consistency, ensuring recipe specifications and portion controls are met.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and subordinates.
Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years in a similar position, with prior supervisory experience. Must be able to stand for extended periods, speak clearly, and lift heavy objects. High school diploma and formal training or on-the-job training required.
