About this Position

This position offers flexible work options, with the possibility of working up to one day at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.

Job Description

This Child and Youth Mental Health Clinician will play a vital role in providing direct clinical services, including intake services, assessment, treatment, and some crisis intervention. You will work closely with team members, community agencies, schools, hospitals, and other ministry programs to provide comprehensive care, including individual, group, and family therapy.

You will have the opportunity to work with a supportive and passionate team to make a meaningful positive difference in the lives of children, youth, and their families facing emotional and behavioral challenges. This may involve providing sessions in your office or out in the beautiful outdoors that the Cowichan Valley has to offer.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in Counselling, Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology, or Child and Youth Care, or a comparable graduate degree at the Master's level in a similar subject;
  • A minimum of one year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community-based mental health services;
  • A valid Class 5 BC Driver's license with no restriction or equivalent;

Possible preference will be given to applicants with two years or more experience working with children and youth and their families, as well as those who self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit).

Benefits

This position comes with a competitive salary range of $85,563.25 to $97,633.20 annually, which includes a 4-grid Temporary Market Adjustment. Flexible work options are available, and an eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
