Job Title: Coordinator, Capital and Facilities Renewal Projects

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Coordinator, Capital and Facilities Renewal Projects to join our team at the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and management of various capital projects and programs, including minor renovations and new school construction, within a multi-million-dollar budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage capital projects and programs, ensuring alignment with the Board's strategic directions and priorities.
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and data management of the School Condition Assessment program for school facilities and infrastructure.
  • Establish timelines, schedules, and participate in third-party consultant inspections to inform the facility condition database.
  • Summarize and generate reports to provide information for the selection of improvement projects.
Requirements:
  • University degree in Architectural, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive work experience in building condition assessments, construction, and/or project management.
  • Working knowledge of Construction Law and CCDC.
  • Combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with municipal approvals process, consultant/construction contracts, and tendering procedures within the Broader Public Sector.
  • Relevant government regulations and Ontario Building Code.
  • School design experience.
  • Public sector and/or school board experience.
  • Full knowledge of computer applications, including CAD, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and databases.
  • Knowledge of fundamental accounting transactions.
  • Working knowledge of software maintenance programs such as Megamation, eBASE, and VFA.
  • Technical knowledge of building component systems, materials, procedures, construction supervision, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, time management, and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Good working knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety, Fire, and Building codes, as well as other municipal regulations and bylaws.
  • Availability to work after hours and weekends when required.
  • Valid driver's license and use of own vehicle for travel within the board's jurisdiction.
