Job Summary:

The University of Ottawa is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Dispatcher to join our team. As a key member of our Protection Services department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our university community and its visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to emergency calls and provide safety instructions and appropriate responses.
  • Monitor alarm points and surveillance systems across all university campuses.
  • Provide information, advice, and assistance to the university community and its visitors.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in security or a related field.
  • Minimum of one to three years of related work experience.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR, Level C.
  • Training and experience in emergency dispatching.
  • Knowledge of emergency response protocols and guidelines.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Working Conditions:

This is a 40-hour per week position with a rotating shift schedule, including evenings, weekends, and overnights. The successful candidate must be willing and able to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a high level of professionalism and discretion.
