IKO Industries Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Laboratory Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will report to the Lab Supervisor and be responsible for conducting testing on various research projects.

Job Description

The Laboratory Technician will compile reports to determine product compliance to company standards and quality. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing quality assurance testing on asphalt roofing shingle products and raw materials for compliance with company standards.
  • Taking direction from Lab Supervisor or Corporate Quality Engineer to conduct research projects.
  • Complying laboratory reports based on interpreting research data for evaluation by the Lab Supervisor.
  • FOLLOWING AND ADHERING TO INTERNAL LABORATORY SOPs, ASTMs and UL test methods.
  • Maintaining good record keeping practices and strict adherence to quality and safety programs.
  • Receiving samples from various internal and external customers and assigning sample numbers for identification.
  • Maintaining accuracy and calibration of laboratory testing equipment.
  • Other projects and assignments related to research and quality assurance may be assigned.
  • Work with production plants within IKO to provide support and supplemental research data.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

  • PREFERENCE TOWARDS SENIOR STUDENTS.
  • Experience in a laboratory environment desired.
  • Fluent working knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
  • Experience with advanced Excel functions preferred.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize several projects at a time.
  • Strong commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment.
  • Effective team player with a positive, adaptable attitude.
  • Possess solid problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Possess effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Possess the ability to work independently.
  • Must be self-motivated, results and action oriented.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds on a routine basis.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer competitive compensation, ranging from $22/hour to $24/hour, depending on experience. In addition, we provide a range of benefits, including:

  • Hours of work will be primarily Monday through Friday (30-40 hours, day shift).
