Job Title: Relief System Operator

Job Summary:

FortisBC is seeking a Relief System Operator to join our team in the System Control Centre. As a Relief System Operator, you will be responsible for relieving the System Operator and performing duties normally carried out by a lower classification employee.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Learn and perform the duties of the System Operator
  • Perform duties normally carried out by a lower classification employee

Requirements:

  • NERC certification
  • Diploma in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology program
  • Capable of exercising good judgment and able to handle the stress of the operating job, especially during emergencies
  • Able to deal courteously with the public via telephone and work cooperatively with fellow employees
  • Have the potential, ability, and intent to progress to higher classification in the Control Centre

What We Offer:

Once fully trained, the Relief System Operator will be paid at the System Operator rate of $62.25 per hour. This role has on-call/standby requirements based on operational needs.
