Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Secretary to join our team at the BC Cancer Agency in Victoria, BC. As a Medical Secretary, you will provide administrative support to our clinical team, ensuring the smooth operation of our oncology clinic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and staff
  • Manage and maintain accurate and confidential patient records
  • Coordinate appointments, tests, and procedures for patients
  • Prepare and distribute medical reports, letters, and other documents
  • Assist with data entry, billing, and other administrative tasks
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure seamless communication and coordination
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Grade 12 graduation from a recognized secretarial program, including a recognized course in medical transcription
  • Three years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Ability to keyboard at 50 wpm
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
