About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Alpine Irrigation. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of our grounds and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire, Supervise and Schedule Staff: Lead a team of grounds maintenance staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties effectively.
  • Plan and Direct Grounds Maintenance: Develop and implement comprehensive grounds maintenance plans, ensuring our facilities are well-maintained and visually appealing.
  • Plan and Estimate Labour and Materials: Conduct thorough assessments of labour and material requirements, ensuring accurate estimates and efficient use of resources.
  • Plan, Manage and Supervise Landscape Construction Work: Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of landscape construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Maintain Work Records and Logs: Maintain accurate records and logs of work completed, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Tender and Administer Contracts: Source and manage contracts for goods and services, ensuring the best value for Alpine Irrigation.
  • Requisition or Order Materials, Equipment and Supplies: Source and procure materials, equipment, and supplies as needed, ensuring timely delivery and quality.
  • Resolve Work Problems, Provide Technical Advice and Recommend Measures to Improve Productivity and Product Quality: Identify and resolve work-related issues, providing technical guidance and recommendations to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Establish Work Schedules and Procedures: Develop and implement effective work schedules and procedures, ensuring seamless operations and minimal downtime.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
  • Work Setting: Various locations
  • Security and Safety: Basic security clearance
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, combination of sitting, standing, walking, standing for extended periods
