Driller Locator Job Description

Elevated HR Solutions is seeking a skilled Driller Locator to join our team of experts in the telecom industry. As a Driller Locator, you will play a crucial role in the underground utility locating and drilling process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate drilling equipment, including Ditch Witch and Vermeer machines, and small tools to accurately identify and mark the location of buried utilities.
  • Interpret project plans, diagrams, and locates to ensure accurate drilling and locating activities.
  • Collaborate with team members to coordinate drilling and locating activities, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Conduct pre-drilling assessments and surveys to determine potential underground hazards and take necessary precautions.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on drilling and locating equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents.
  • Record and maintain accurate documentation of drilling and locating activities, including site logs and reports.
  • Collaborate with utility companies and contractors to resolve any conflicts or issues related to utility locations.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in directional drilling and locating within telecom construction or a related industry.
  • Hands-on experience in operating Ditch Witch and Vermeer machines and other small tools.
  • Fundamental understanding of telecom and fiber optic installation processes.
  • Proven ability to interpret plans, diagrams, and locate information accurately.
