Job Summary

Athabasca Motor Hotel 1972 Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hotel Operations Manager to join our team. As an Assistant Hotel Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our hotel, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Manage Staff
    • Lead and motivate a team of staff members to achieve exceptional guest satisfaction and hotel performance.
    • Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and develop staff to meet business objectives.
  • Front Desk Operations
    • Manage front desk operations, including check-in, check-out, and guest services.
    • Ensure accurate and efficient handling of guest transactions and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Financial Management
    • Prepare and manage budgets, monitor revenues and expenses, and identify areas for cost savings.
    • Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue and improve profitability.
  • Maintenance and Facilities
    • Oversee maintenance activities, including repairs, renovations, and capital projects.
    • Ensure the hotel's facilities and equipment are well-maintained and meet health and safety standards.
  • Guest Services
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve guest satisfaction and loyalty.
    • Ensure exceptional guest experiences through prompt and courteous service.
  • Security and Safety
    • Ensure the hotel's security and safety protocols are in place and followed.
    • Conduct regular security and safety audits to identify areas for improvement.
  • Transportation and Travel
    • Ensure staff have access to reliable transportation to and from work.
    • Develop and implement strategies to reduce transportation costs and improve efficiency.
  • Work Environment and Physical Demands
    • Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
    • Stand for extended periods, walk, and move frequently throughout the hotel.
  • Personal Suitability
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
Requirements
  • Education
    • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Certifications and Licenses
    • Smart Serve certification.
  • Computer and Technology Skills
    • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
    • Experience with central reservation systems (CRS).
  • Security and Safety
    • Bondable and able to pass a criminal record check.
