Job Overview

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) plays a critical role in providing end-to-end HR services to leaders and employees. As the primary point of contact, the HRBP engages, coaches, and educates clients on HR matters, providing strategic consultation and support for HR programs such as labor relations, talent and succession planning, and employee engagement.

The successful candidate will be passionate about leading change, curious about the mining industry and diamond business, and committed to advancing our strategic goals. They will demonstrate exceptional self-awareness and personal leadership, with a strong ability to build and maintain relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with leaders and employees to provide HR services and solutions, aligning business strategy with HR initiatives.
  • Facilitate the deployment and execution of cyclical HR program activities, including performance management, compensation cycles, and talent management.
  • Promote awareness and provide guidance on compliance with legislated programs, policies, and processes.
  • Support the business in building and maintaining a strong organizational culture and employee experience.
  • Assist clients in preventing and resolving HR-related issues, including conflict management and change management.
  • Work closely with team leaders and local union to identify early resolution opportunities and improve union relations.
Requirements
  • Completed post-secondary education in a related field, such as Human Resources Management or Business Administration.
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources designation and/or Human Resources Management Certificate are considered strong assets.
  • 5-8 years of relevant functional experience in human resources as a generalist.
  • 3 or more years of experience working in a unionized environment, with experience in grievances and contract negotiations.
  • Sound organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills, with proven abilities in problem-solving.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
