Produce Order Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Produce Order Writer to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our produce team, you will be responsible for ordering, replenishing, and merchandising produce, participating in regional programs, and maintaining inventory control.
Key Responsibilities:- Order and replenish produce through proper buying procedures, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to meet customer demand.
- Monitor and control spoilage and shrink, achieving turn goals and participating in inventory management.
- Maximize sales potential through effective merchandising and stocking procedures, ensuring a visually appealing and well-stocked produce department.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing customer needs in a timely and effective manner, and modeling suggestive selling techniques.
- Collaborate with the produce team to maintain a clean and sanitary working environment, adhering to WFM cleanliness and safety standards.
- Extensive produce product knowledge, including production, distribution, seasonal availability, advances, and trends.
- Familiarity with and/or willingness to learn about products, nutritional information, and other areas of study.
- Strong basic math skills and ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ordering systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions with customers, vendors, and team members.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Standing/walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday.
- Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and temperatures ranging from 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
